Samsung announce new NVMe-based SSD X5 which featuring Thunderbolt Port 3

Widely popular T3 and T5 series of portable SSDs, and now Samsung today officially announced a new X-series NVMe external portable SSD X5 with Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, the company says that you will get up to 2,800 MB/s speed is 5 times faster than the SSDs which based on SATA 3.

It mentioned 2,800 MB/s read speed are same as the 2,300 MB/s write speed, which allows user to transfer a 20 GB data in just 12 seconds.

It's supports only Thunderbolt 3 drive only, so it requires a MacBook Pro or a Windows machine which have Thunderbolt 3 port. And Dimension for the Samsung Portable SSD X5 are 4.7 inch × 0.8 inch, but steel weight is just 150.2 grams (5.3 ounce), the designed with full-metal body obviously and attractive glossy finish.

In Storage part, Portable SSD X5 will be available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB variants. Prices start at Rs.28,075 ($399.99) for low end model, Rs.49,137 ($699.99) for mid tier model and Rs.98,275 ($1399.99) for the high end 2TB variant. Portable SSD X5 offers data protection courtesy of Samsung's SSD Software featuring AES 256-bit hardware encryption and optional password protection.

And the most important, the New SSD's will be available globally from 3 September 2018
